Problem-Led
Growth™

Stop guessing how to market.
Find the problem worth owning.

Problem-Led Growth™ makes a valuable customer problem the organising principle for who you target, what you offer, how you position and how you create demand, then validates those decisions through real buyer behaviour before you scale them.

Answer the questions
the next growth move
already depends on.

When targeting, offers and campaigns start from different assumptions, pipeline weakens and deals stall. Answer these questions before committing more budget.

01Who should we pursue or rule out?
02Which problem should we lead with?
03Which buyer actually owns it?
04Why would they act now?
05What proof do we need?
06What should sales say?
07Which assumptions should we stop believing?

The core mechanism

Define the problem.
Prove who cares.
Scale what works.

Connect customer evidence to the buyer, offer, message and next investment decision.

01DEFINE

Find the problem
worth owning.

Start with what the product or service can genuinely deliver. Connect customer struggle, business impact and buying ownership to identify the problem that is valuable, urgent and credible for you to lead with.

Decisions clarifiedProblem · ICP · JTBD · buying moment · offer
02PROVE

Put the thesis in front
of real buyers.

Turn the problem into positioning, proof, campaign angles, sales language and a focused market test. Watch what qualified buyers do, where they hesitate and which assumptions fail.

Evidence collectedResponse · progression · objections · conversion
03SCALE

Invest behind the
evidence.

Use buyer behaviour to choose what to increase, refine or stop. Carry the same problem through demand generation, sales and the customer experience so growth does not fragment as activity increases.

Who it helps

Established offer.
A harder next stage.

For SaaS, MSP and software services businesses with paying customers, delivery capability and growth that is getting harder or more expensive. You need access to customer evidence and capacity to act on the decisions.

How it differs

One problem connects
the commercial decisions.

The method connects problem and buyer selection to the offer, positioning, proof, campaigns and sales. It can guide product-led, sales-led or marketing-led execution; the acquisition motion follows the buying situation.

The method in real work

The decisions
behind the work.

These engagements predate the methodology’s name. They show its component decisions in practice, with the original role and team attribution retained.

02 / PATHWAYPORTCustomer evidence

Turn customer experience into a reason to buy.

Customer interviews became three customer stories, clearer value messaging and outbound material the insurance software business could use in the market.

Customer research · value proposition · LinkedIn outbound
03 / BRIGHTMARBLESCommercial clarity

Make broad expertise easier to understand and buy.

Core website copy, service messaging, customer cases and content connected engineering capability to the problems buyers brought to the business.

Native Problem-Led Growth™

Created by Bojan Teshin.

Native Problem-Led Growth™ is the framework I developed through DynamicNative, shortened to Problem-Led Growth™ on this site. It draws on 15+ years in marketing across technology and subscription businesses. I use it to connect customer evidence with commercial decisions and work in market.

Before you apply it

A few useful
distinctions.

Is Problem-Led Growth™ just a positioning exercise?

No. Positioning is one decision inside the method. The problem also guides ICP selection, the offer, proof, demand generation, sales language and the market tests used to decide what deserves investment.

Does the method assume we need a new market or offer?

No. It starts with what the business can already deliver and what customers already experience. The evidence may support the current direction, narrow it or show that a material change is needed.

Does the method define who isn’t a fit?

Yes. The ICP includes observable fit conditions, exclusions and qualification signals. We identify who experiences a problem the offer can credibly solve, where the impact justifies the investment, and what needs to be in place for delivery to work. Accounts outside those conditions are excluded or qualified further. Industry and company size alone do not establish fit.

What counts as validation?

Evidence depends on the commercial decision. It may include qualified response, buyer progression, conversion, objections, acquisition economics and what real buyers do after they encounter the offer.

Can our existing marketing and sales team use it?

Yes. The method gives the team a shared customer, problem, offer, proof and test. Existing channels and capabilities can continue when the evidence supports them.
